If you’ve always dreamed of sailing in the beautiful waters of Hawaii, you can now make that dream a reality with Hawaii Sail Charters. Unplug, unwind, and relax with only the sounds of the wind through the sails and the hull slicing through the bluest waters on earth. Sample some local dishes while we bring you a choice of complimentary tropical cocktail, Kona beer, soda or water, and let us do the sailing. If you’re an experienced sailor, you are welcome to take the helm, trim the sails and plot your own course.
Enjoy a selection of local treats and beverages, such as tropical fruit platters, local foods, and a diverse range of beers and wines from our Captain’s Bar. The Moana is outfitted with all the amenities you might need—snorkeling gear, stand-up paddleboards, and a modern Bluetooth stereo system for your listening pleasure, all readily accessible for your use.
Snorkeling
The Kona coast is famous for our year-round calm, clear, tropical waters. We can take you to uncrowded, unspoiled, coral reefs teeming with colorful fish. Kealakekua Bay and the Captain Cook Monument is always a highlight on our daily snorkeling tours. We provide all your snorkel gear, including a selection of prescription masks, flotation devices, and a warm fresh water shower and towel when you’re ready to get out of the water.
Dolphin or Whale Watching
Set sail and visit our local residents in their natural habitat. During the right season, witness the awe-inspiring sight of whales breaching the surface or playful dolphins racing alongside the boat. Our location provides prime opportunities to observe these marine animals up close, adding an element of wonder to your sailing experience.
Amenities
When you’re on the Moana, you won’t need anything other than a change of clothes and a light jacket if you’re sailing at sunset. You charter includes towels, reef safe sunscreen, gear for water sports, fishing, hot shower and everything you need to make it a memorable experience.
Sailing
If you’re a novice or experienced sailor, you’ll have the opportunity to sail in Hawaii aboard the Moana! Create a special memory when you sail across the beautiful Kona coast with an experienced crew.
Stand Up Paddleboarding
We keep two soft-top Stand Up Paddle Boards on the boat at all times. It’s great exercise and you can explore the shoreline, we just ask that you don’t venture too far from the boat. The best part is that since you can stand at full height on your board, this gives you a unique vantage point you may get lucky and see a reef turtle coming up to catch a breath or even some of our resident dolphins cruising the Kona coast.
Food & Beverages
Enjoy a taste of Hawaii with a selection of local pupus and refreshing beverages. Our standard menu includes tropical fruit platters, veggies with hummus, poke, sandwiches and freshly sautéed fish or shrimp during our sunset cruises. The Captain’s Bar offers local beers, fine wines, bubbly, crafted cocktails, juices, sodas, and sparkling water.

Choosing your charter: How many hours should I book?
Our 40-foot sailboat, Moana, can accommodate up to six people, ensuring a personalized and intimate experience. When you book with us, all food, beverages and activities—including sailing, snorkeling, stand-up paddleboarding, fishing, and wildlife spotting—are included.
Our flexible booking options allow you to customize the duration and start time of your sail to perfectly match your schedule. You can book anywhere from 2 to 8 hour charters. If you’re not sure how long you’d like to sail for, here are some of the different benefits for shorter vs longer charters:
A quick escape
2 or 3 hours
Enjoy a quick escape sailing along the Kona coast, where you can get views of iconic landmarks and snorkel in crystal-clear waters. Ideal for those looking to experience the ocean without a long commitment. Our shorter charters provide a perfect blend of adventure and convenience.
An extended excursion
4 or 5 Hours
Longer sails offer multiple stops and you have the opportunity to spend more time snorkeling or paddleboarding in scenic locations. This charter is perfect for those looking to maximize their time on the water and explore more, while still fitting the tour comfortably into their day.
Full-day sail
6,7 or 8 Hours
For those seeking a truly immersive day on the water, our 6 to 8-hour charters are highly recommended. This extended duration allows us to venture to Kealakekua Bay, where you can paddleboard to the shore, enjoy snorkeling in vibrant coral reefs, or simply relax by the picturesque sandy beaches.
